Lecture content
The course deals with basic understanding of the role of atmospheric aerosol in the atmosphere as it is required for climate research, aerosol remote sensing and environmental control. Subjects of the course are: the physics, especially the microphysical characteristics (size distributions, light scattering, optical properties) of aerosol, its chemical composition and ist effects on radiation. Connected with this measurement methods for aerosol properties and results are presented. Finally, priciples and results of methods of aerosol remote sensing from space will be demonstrated
The course is mainly for interested master- or diploma- students for environmantal physics or physics.
It is organized as a two hour/ week course with exercises.
